LI XIANG

Li Xiang is a director and photographer based between Paris and Beijing.

He graduated from the Directing Department of the Łódź Film School and Le Fresnoy — Studio national des arts contemporains. His training includes the Béla Tarr Filmmaking Workshop and the Zhou Chuanji Directing Workshop.

His work spans narrative film, documentary, experimental moving image and photography.

For me, cinema is not a representation of reality, but an exploration of the experience of time.

I continue to explore the relationships between time, space, memory and people: how images make dwelling, passing and absence perceptible, and how figures emerge between place, body and memory.
